Wyoming Wildlife photo contest deadline Nov. 19th
Rules, deadline change for 2013

October 3, 2012
Photographers are reminded that less than two months remain to submit entries for the annual Wyoming Wildlifephoto contest.
The contest deadline this year is Nov.19, a departure of the Nov. 15 deadline of previous years. In addition to the change of deadline date, there is also a change in the format for images entered in the contest. Editor Chris Madson said that due to a shortage of staff, transparencies and prints will no longer be accepted. The contest this year will use a digital format that will reduce staff time needed to administer the contest and eliminate the need to return images. If photographers are working in color negative or transparency format, the images can be scanned into digital JPEG form.
Images are required to be submitted in digital form on a CD or DVD. This year, photographers will need to send all images on a single disk, placed in separate folders by category. For example, all flora images would be in one folder, all wildlife images in another folder, etc. Disks will not be returned and will be destroyed after images have been chosen for the contest and the April 2013 special photo issue.
To be eligible, all photos must have been taken in Wyoming. Photographers can compete in several categories, including Wildlife, Scenic-Pictorial, Recreational Activities, and Flora. There will be no separate division for black-and-white images; all photos in a category will be judged together.
The grand-prize winner will receive $300. First place in each category will be awarded $150, second $100 and third $50. Winning entries will be featured in the February 2013 issue and noteworthy entries may also be selected for the April essay issue.
Entry forms and contest rules are available in current issues of Wyoming Wildlife and are on the Game and Fish website http://gf.state.wy.us.
Wyoming Wildlife is available on newsstands or by subscribing at (800) 710-8345 for $12.95 for a year.
