Sage and Snow Garden Club July newsletter
by Sage and Snow Garden Club
July 16, 2012
I'm taking a vacation from the usual Q's & A's to enjoy all the young flora (ha!) & fauna sprouts in & around my garden. I hope you can do the same.
Dear Flora, Who planted the flower barrels in Pinedale?
Signed, Just Wondering
The flower barrels are an annual project coordinated by the Sage & Snow Garden Club in conjunction with local businesses. Volunteers arrived before 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16 to assist the Club with the planting. A new approach was used this year: 15 teams of people from all over Sublette County arrived in the parking lot of Pinedale’s Town Hall to receive their planting instructions & head out to beautify the town streets. All barrels were planted well before noon & all that was left to do was eat hot dogs & swap stories.
The Sage & Snow Garden Club would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the volunteers that came out to plant. Some of the organizations represented included the Soroptomists, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Leos, Lions Club, & Mainstreet Program. Sage & Snow Garden Club members served as consultants for most teams & recruited their families to help plant or cook hot dogs. We were also joined by Roberta Bolton, Wyoming Federated Garden Clubs State President, who came all the way from Cheyenne to lend a hand. Thanks again for a wonderful community effort!
What a wonderful community you have. I am planning to move here & would like to meet local gardeners. When does the Sage & Snow Garden Club meet?
Signed, David Bloom
