Black History Month at the Pinedale Library
by Sublette County Library
January 25, 2012

February is Black History Month and the Sublette County Library, at 155 S Tyler Ave in Pinedale, is celebrating throughout the month. On Thursday, Feb 2nd at 6:30 pm local cowboy Chuck Murry will share some of his memorable life experiences—participating in right-to-vote protests, marching with Martin Luther King, Jr., traveling the countryside as a gospel singer and settling down in Sublette County.

Inside the main library there will be a special table featuring books, music and movies celebrating famous Afro-Americans.

Chuck will be back at the library for an African drumming circle on Thursday, February 23 at 6:30 pm. Join theatricalper former Lulu Fall, Chuck Murray and Pinedale's own star drummer Ryan Ptasnik for a festive evening of spontaneous rhythm. This event is great for all ages and completely participatory...experiment with a variety of drums or bring your own!

Additionally, Images of Black Wyoming, a photo exhibit on loan from the University of Wyoming’s American Heritage Center will be hanging on the walls in the new addition of the library throughout the month.
