WIND RIVER MOUNTAINS WEST-UPPER GREEN RIVER BASIN-
SOUTH LINCOLN COUNTY-ROCK SPRINGS AND GREEN RIVER-FLAMING GORGE-EAST SWEETWATER COUNTY-INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...LA BARGE...BIG PINEY...FARSON...KEMMERER...COKEVILLE...ROCK SPRINGS...GREEN RIVER...WAMSUTTER

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MDT WEDNESDAY.

* SUMMARY AND TIMING...SNOWFALL WILL BECOME WIDESPREAD THIS MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE THIS EVENING...HEAVY AT TIMES...BEFORE GRADUALLY TAPERING OFF LATE TONIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 6 INCHES IS FORECAST TO FALL IN WESTERN SWEETWATER COUNTY AND ACROSS THE SOUTHERN GREEN RIVER BASIN. THIS INCLUDES ROCK SPRINGS...GREEN RIVER...AND LA BARGE. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED TO FALL ACROSS EASTERN SWEETWATER COUNTY.

* WIND AND VISIBILITY...NORTHEAST WIND WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 MPH WITH SOME GUSTS TO 35 MPH IN EASTERN SWEETWATER COUNTY UESDAY AFTERNOON. THESE WINDS MAY PRODUCE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW REDUCING THE VISIBILITY TO ONE QUARTER OF A MILE OR LESS AT TIMES ALONG INTERSTATE 80. THE WINDS IN WESTERN SWEETWATER COUNTY AND IN THE SOUTHERN GREEN RIVER BASIN WILL ONLY BLOW AT 10 TO 15 MPH WITH AN OCCASIONAL GUST OF 25 MPH.

* IMPACTS...HIGHWAYS WILL LIKELY BECOME SLICK AND SNOW COVERED THIS MORNING AND WILL REMAIN THAT WAY THROUGH TONIGHT. THE ROAD CONDITIONS ALONG INTERSTATE 80 IN EASTERN SWEETWATER COUNTY MAY BECOME ESPECIALLY HAZARDOUS WITH THE POOR VISIBILITY AND CROSS WINDS IN ADDITION TO THE SLICK ROAD CONDITIONS. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL NOT BE AS PREVALENT ACROSS WESTERN SWEETWATER COUNTY AND IN THE SOUTHERN GREEN RIVER BASIN WHERE THE WIND SPEEDS WILL BE LESS.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
