Encana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. recently completed its annual employee giving program, Encana Cares, raising over $1.8 million for charity; a new record for the company’s U.S. employees.

Encana Cares is a generous giving program where employees’ gifts are matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000. Because Encana covers all administration costs associated with the program, 100 percent of employee donations go directly to their charity of choice. And to make giving easy, employees are able to spread their giving over 24 pay periods. October is the program’s enrollment month.

Encana’s North Rockies Business Unit kicked off Encana Cares month October 3. Both of Encana’s Wyoming field offices, Jonah Field and Wind River/Green River Basins, held special events to celebrate Encana Cares and raise awareness of local charity groups.

The Jonah Field office held a Toy & Bike Drive and received a total of 39 bikes and tricycles, 12 helmets, and 140 toys from employees, vendors and contractors. In addition, Mountain States Pressure Services donated $1,000 to the Encana Relay for Life and $700 was contributed by employees and matched by Encana. The toys and money were distributed to Toys for Tots in Pinedale, Angel Tree in Big Piney and Tree of Sharing in Sweetwater County.

The Wind River/Green River office held a casino night at the Riverton Elks Club. The event raised more than $6,300 and with Encana’s match, close to $9,000 benefited Help for Health, a local charity that helps cancer patients with everyday expenses while in treatment.

Encana Cares Enrollment Month Key Stats:
• 995– number of US employees enrolled in Encana Cares
