Shell Exploration and Production recently donated $5,000 to the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) to be used for the Client Services Program.
"Shell is proud to support the Client Services Program at the Pregnancy Resource Center as we have for several years. These services are made available county-wide and beyond to assist the families in our community," said James Duran, Operations Manager for Shell.
The grant from Shell will be used for the continued development of the Client Services Program in Marbleton and Big Piney. "We are honored that Shell has chosen to support this program over the past several years," said Melissa Andersen, Executive Director of the PRC. "We hope to see more clients in the southern part of the county as more people become aware of our services."
The Client Services Program of the PRC is designed to provide the resources and education that families need in order to make positive decisions regarding their health, pregnancies relationships, and parenting. The classes offered through this program cover a wide range of topics including prenatal development, newborn care, first aid, nutrition, and positive discipline. Clients who participate in the program earn vouchers for each class they attend, which can be used to purchase needed items such as cribs, car seats, diapers, formula or clothing.
The Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) is a nonprofit organization that provides free services to those who are dealing with either a planned or unplanned pregnancy. Key services include: pregnancy tests, prenatal and parenting classes, community referrals, material assistance, and peer counseling. In addition, the PRC hosts abstinence and STD education classes for high school sophomores.
