Pronghorn Migration Corridor protected by Forest Service
June 29, 2008

Kniffy Hamilton, Supervisor for the Bridger-Teton National Forest, welcomes everyone to the unveiling of the Path of the Pronghorn sign in the Upper Green on Friday.

A busload of people came to recognize the Bridger-Teton’s revision of the master plan which recognizes protecting the Pronghorn migration corridor.

Other speakers included Chuck Otto of the Bureau of Land Management, John Carney for Carney Ranches, Wildlife Biologist Dr. Kim Berger for the Wildlife Conservation Society, Joel Bousman of the Sublette County Commissioners, and Bernie Holz of Wyoming Game & Fish.

Lara Ryan of the Green River Valley Land Trust was given a letter awarding a Jonah Interagency Office grant for her proposal for fencing improvements as a way to mitigate wildlife impacts.

Other signs have been or will be placed along the migration corridor in Grand Teton National Park, the Gros Ventre, the Upper Green, and in a Wyoming Centennial Scenic Byway interpretive kiosk at Duck Creek just outside Pinedale.
