Idaho issue wolf reports
by Idaho Fish and Game Department
April 15, 2008

With the removal of wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains from the federal endangered species list, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is no longer compiling its weekly wolf reports.

The states of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming are going to try to keep the wolf weekly going as individual states. In the past reporting has been on livestock incidents, major wolf management, outreach and monitoring information by wolf program staff, and other information of significance dealing with wolves.

Idaho's weekly wolf reports, in addition to other wolf information will be posted on the Idaho Fish and Game website. Click on the link below to get there.

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission adopted the Idaho Wolf Population Management Plan on March 6. The plan would govern wolf management when the delisting takes effect. Commissioners are expected to set seasons and rules for wolf hunts in May.

The management plan and Idaho's annual wolf recovery report also are available at the Idaho Fish and Game website.
