On July 21, USDA Wildlife Services personnel confirmed a calf killed on public land south of Dubois. Two days later, a second calf was found in the same area and recorded as a probable wolf kill.

Wildlife Services suspects wolves from the East Fork Pack were responsible for the depredations. One female wolf in the pack is radio collared; however, she frequently travels out of the area. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service field crew members set traps in the area in an attempt to collar another wolf.

On July 23, Wildlife Services confirmed that wolves from the Gooseberry Pack attacked and severely injured a calf west of Meeteetse. This area has had chronic wolf depredations in past years. A yearling was killed a few days later, but more will be removed if there are additional depredations, according to FWS.

On July 26, Wildlife Services confirmed a cow killed by wolves in the Beartooth Pack (7 adults plus pups) west of Cody. Earlier this summer, Beartooth wolves killed a calf in the same area. An adult wolf was killed July 27, and more will be removed if depredations continue, FWS reported.
