WYO GOP has chutzpah

The Washington Times says the Wyoming Republican Party should be given
“credit for chutzpah” in setting its county convention date on the same date as
the first presidential primary, which takes place in New Hampshire.
The front-page article by Valerie Richardson in the May 20 issue of The
Washington Times notes that by state statute, New Hampshire is to host the
primary seven days before any similar event. But since Wyoming political parties
host “county conventions” rather than “primaries” the date may remain the
same: January 22.
The article noted that Wyoming is the nation’s least populated state, with the
least likelihood of seeing a presidential contender on the campaign trail. But
with New Hampshire’s blue history, all those Republican presidential contenders
might be better served by courting Wyoming, a solid red state.
